Fairy Tales: Tortise and the Hare

Do any of you know the story of Gatorade? This popular sports drink was created at the University of Florida. When the coaches and school faculty noticed the football players were struggling to make it through games in the Florida heat, the science department went to work on an energy drink that would do more than quench their thirst. Gatorade, named for the Florida Gators, helped the players to keep running, keep playing, and never quit. Now every sports team in America has a drink like Gatorade on their sidelines. 　 If we want to have a growing, thriving relationship with God, we need to spend time with the Lord every day. Every prayer we pray, every passage we read, every hymn we sing, and every verse we memorize is another step in a lifelong race toward the prize of Heaven. We can take it slow and steady, like the Tortoise, and God will bless us every step of the way. 　 Let’s pray for the strength to run the race every day. Let’s run so that when we stand before Jesus at the end of this race, He will say to us, "Well done!"
