Christian Hero Who Saved 9,000 From ISIS Now Imprisoned in Syria: Inside the Tragic Story

A Syrian Christian leader once hailed as a hero for helping save thousands of Christians from ISIS is now sitting in prison without charges. Suleiman Khalil, the former mayor of the ancient Christian town of Sadad, has reportedly been detained for 19 months without access to a lawyer and with limited contact with his family.

Joel Veldkamp of Christian Solidarity International joins Billy Hallowell and Jen Lilley on Into the Supernatural to reveal Khalil’s story, the troubling conditions Christians are facing under Syria’s new government, and why advocates believe U.S. pressure could help secure his release.
