MAKEDA: Sheba's Queen | First Look | Proof-of-Concept Trailer

When two sovereigns meet, it changes the course of history.

Makeda: Sheba’s Queen, is a faith-based historical drama inspired by the Bible and the ancient Ethiopian tradition recorded in the Kebra Nagast, with creative liberties taken to expand the story for a cinematic audience.

The story follows Makeda, a royal daughter who was not originally the heir. After the death of her brother, she becomes the successor and begins a journey that will lead her to become the legendary Queen of Sheba.

This first look offers a glimpse into one moment from that larger journey—the night before Makeda leaves Jerusalem, when King Solomon holds a banquet in her honor. Beneath the grandeur of the royal court is an encounter between two sovereigns whose meeting will have consequences far beyond that evening.

Imagine 'The Chosen' meets 'The House of David' meets 'One Night with the King'—with a touch of Bridgerton-style courtly intrigue, social politics, and whispered gossip behind palace doors.

The larger saga explores Makeda's rise to the throne, the court politics surrounding her succession, the challenges of leadership, and the faith, intellect, and courage that guide her journey.

But beyond the politics and pageantry are the people behind the crowns—their relationships, ambitions, secrets, and choices when no one is watching.

The House of Makeda Studios is developing this story with the vision of bringing Makeda's world to life on screen and introducing audiences to a different point of view of one of history's most enduring royal figures.
