Antonio Daniels - Former NBA player and wife Sonia on life in the NBA, marriage, keeping Jesus at the center

Antonio Daniels played 12 years in the NBA with the Grizzlies, Spurs, Blazers, Sonics, Wizards, Hornets and the 76ers. Daniels won an NBA championship in 1999 with San Antonio. After retirement, Daniels went into broadcasting and is currently an analyst for New Orleans Pelicans broadcasts with Bally Sports.

Today on the podcast, Antonio and his wife Sonia join the show to discuss the role of faith in their marriage and how it has transformed their lives. Benjamin Watson - Former NFL tight end on his trip to Kenya with Water Mission and Christ guiding his steps

Benjamin Watson played 16 seasons in the NFL with the Patriots, Browns, Saints and Ravens. He retired after the 2019 season with 547 career receptions and a Super Bowl championship. He is currently a college football analyst with the SEC Network and the vice president of strategic relationships with the Human Coalition.

As a speaker and author, Watson has used his NFL platform to share the love of Jesus and speak up on issues including race, abortion and justice. His latest book, “The New Fight for Life,” releases in June 2023.

On today’s podcast, former MLB pitcher Scott Linebrink joins Jason Romano to talk to Benjamin Watson about his recent trip to Kenya with Water Mission. Watson shares about the role of faith in his involvement with Water Mission and how they witnessed the presence of Jesus in the people they met.

John Small - East Coweta High School football coach on football as a teacher of life and being a glory reflector

John Small is a high school football coach for East Coweta High School in Sharpsburg, Georgia. His father, John Small was the Atlanta Falcons number one draft pick (12th overall) in the 1970 NFL Draft and played five seasons with the Falcons and Lions. His son began coaching in 1997 at the University of West Georgia but transitioned to high school in 1998 and has been coaching high school football since.

From 2005-2017, Small was the head coach at South Gwinnett High School before transitioning to East Coweta in 2018. Over his 19 seasons as a head coach, Small has had multiple playoff appearances.

Today on the podcast, we talk to coach John Small about the lessons he learned from his NFL playing dad, what it means to be a kingdom coach, why football is a cheat sheet for life and his desire to be a glory reflector.

David Hess - Former MLB pitcher on battling cancer, overcoming fear and God's faithfulness

David Hess is a former MLB pitcher who was originally selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 5th round of the MLB Draft in 2014. He made his MLB debut in 2018 with the Orioles and picked with Baltimore until 2020. In 2021, he was with Miami and Tampa Bay. After a cancer diagnosis in 2021, Hess battled and returned to pro baseball, pitching in AAA with Tampa in 2022 before his cancer returned in 2023.

Today on the podcast, we talk to David Hess about his current battle with cancer, facing fear, standing firm in God's faithfulness and celebrating the small moments.

Tony Dungy is a former NFL player and coach who currently is an NFL analyst with NBC Sports. During his playing career, he was a part of the 1978 Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl winning team. As a coach, he led the Colts to a Super Bowl championship in 2006. He is the first African-American head coach to ever win a Super Bowl.

Kayla Burton - ESPN reporter on keeping her identity in Christ and growing in her broadcasting journey

Kayla Burton is an ESPN reporter who covers college football and the UFL. She joined ESPN in August 2023 as a college football sideline reporter. Prior to ESPN, she was with NFL Media and served a multi-platform role across NFL Network, NFL.com and the NFL app.

Prior to her time at NFL Network, Burton served in a number of different roles with Western Mass News based in Springfield, Mass., such as sports/news anchor, reporter and content producer. She also presented Channel 5’s NFL coverage in the UK.

C.J. Ham - Minnesota Vikings fullback on growing in faith and embracing God's love

C.J. Ham is the starting fullback for the Minnesota Vikings. He was signed as an undrafted free-agent in 2016, and after being cut, was signed to the Vikings’ practice squad just before the start of the season. In December that year, Ham was signed to the active roster and made his NFL debut.

Three seasons later, in 2019, Ham made the Pro Bowl. He signed a contract extension in early 2020.

In college at Augustana University (Division II), Ham helped his team advance to the NCAA playoffs, and he led the Northern Sun Conference in rushing yards and touchdowns.

Tim Horton is currently the special teams and running backs coach at Air Force. He has spent 34 seasons as a division one football coach with stops at Appalachian State, Kansas State, Arkansas, Auburn and Vanderbilt.


His father Harold Horton was a coach at Central Arkansas and won two NAIA national titles in 1984 and 1985.

Tress Way - Washington Commanders punter on 10 years in the NFL and living for Christ

Case Keenum - Houston Texans QB on his improbable NFL career and running after Jesus

Case Keenum is a professional football player with the Houston Texans in the NFL. After a stellar career at the University of Houston, he went undrafted and signed with the Texans in 2012. He played his first two seasons with Houston and then spent the next 9 years with the Rams, Vikings, Broncos, Redskins, Browns and Bills before returning to Houston in 2023. 

In college, Keenum was named Conference USA Most Valuable Player in 2009 and 2011 and still holds numerous NCAA individual passing records including passing yards (19,217) and passing touchdowns (155).

Ka'Darian "KD" Hill - Former Ole Miss football player on his unwavering faith after surviving a car wreck and losing his leg

Ka’Darian ‘KD’ Hill is a former Ole Miss football player who played with the Rebels from 2018-2022 under head coaches Matt Luke and Lane Kiffin. On July 21, 2023, Hill was involved in an auto accident in which his leg got trapped between a tree and his vehicle. The severity of the crash led to his right leg being amputated below the knee. Today on the podcast, we talk to KD Hill about his football career, playing at Ole Miss, and growing up in Alabama, and then shift the conversation to his auto accident in 2023, how he was able to trust in God’s plan despite losing his leg, and how his unwavering faith continues to fuel him in a future without football. Darryl Strawberry - New York Mets legend on recovering from a heart attack and having his No. 18 retired

Darryl Strawberry is a former MLB player and was the No. 1 overall selection in the 1980 MLB Amateur Draft by the New York Mets. He made his MLB debut in May 1983 and would go on to play 17 seasons with the Mets, Dodgers, Giants and Yankees. He is an eight-time MLB All-Star and a four-time World Series champion.

In 2010, Strawberry was inducted into the New York Mets Hall of Fame and on June 1, 2024,  Strawberry’s number 18 jersey will be retired by the Mets.

Today on the podcast, we talk to Darryl Strawberry on his number being retired by his former team, suffering a heart attack on March 11, 2024, trusting in God’s healing and continuing to live the rest of his life for Jesus.

Brent Dearmon - North Alabama football coach on God's perfect plan

Brent Dearmon was named the head football coach at the University of North Alabama on December 3, 2022.

Prior to arriving at North Alabama, Dearmon was an assistant coach at Auburn, Kansas, Middle Tennessee and Florida Atlantic.

Today on the podcast, coach Dearmon shares his story of coaching football, what it means to "Raise the Roar," finding his identity in Jesus and not football and following God's perfect plan.
